Office Policies

Please read these important office policies.

Payment Policy
We are happy to bill your insurance company for you as long as we have current and accurate information. Co-pays, however are due at the time of service and patients are responsible for knowing what that amount is. Non-insured patients must pay in full at the time of service unless they have a payment plan agreement with our billing department. All bills are the responsibility of the patient, we bill insurance companies as a courtesy and convenience to you.

“No Show” Policy
It is the policy and practice of Bay View Ob/Gyn to monitor and manage appointment “no-shows”. Any patient who fails to arrive for a scheduled appointment without cancelling the appointment prior to 24 hours of given appointment will be considered a “no-show”. A patient who consistently fails to present themselves for scheduled appointments is considered a “chronic no-show”. A patient who is a no-show more than three times will be dismissed from the Practice.

“Late” Arrivals
It is the policy and practice of Bay View Ob/Gyn that a patient who arrives more than 5 minutes after her scheduled appointment time is handled as a late arrival. If the delay is the responsibility of the practice, the patient is received and registered as usual. If the patient is late for reasons not considered to be the responsibility of the practice the patient will be registered and “worked in” as soon as possible. If the patient is 10 or more minutes late, they may have to be rescheduled.

Drug Screening
Bay View Obstetrics & Gynecology may perform drug screening tests at their discretion, most commonly for new OB patients or patients being prescribed narcotics.

After Hours Service
A Bay View Ob/Gyn physician is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year to respond to urgent or emergent issues with our patients. Please be respectful and exercise good judgment in using this service to allow the on-call physician to be ready and available for those in critical need. Questions or concerns not of an emergent nature should be directed during regular office hours when physicians are in the office seeing patients There is also a physician on-call along with a triage nurse available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

EMR
Bayview Ob/Gyn has been utilizing Electronic Medical Records since 2010, and has recently incorporated a Lab Interface so results are received directly into the patient chart. We will continue to evolve to comply with Meaningful Use Requirements as well as to serve our patients as best we can.
